Thailand – BKK, Beach, Transit

Thailand was originally my first and most important destination when I started planning the trip. Now it turns out that I haven’t spent muchtime sightseeing and I didn’t get to see much of Thai-Life. Somehow I didn’t feel like exploring much and it became more of a transport hub for me. Nevertheless I did enjoy my time in Bangkok. I went up to the Hangover roof top bar to take in the stunning view.

I stayed twice at the rather expensive but nice HQ Hostel near Sala Daeng and another night in YHA Hostel just around the corner down the road. As always Bangkok is crowded, noisy, fast-paced but also exciting. On my return from Myanmar I arranged a train and boat to Koh Phangan. One can notice easily that Thailand has a lot of tourism experience. The train, bus and connecting boat ticket got me to the island without any problems. Also on the way from Koh Phangan to Penang in Malaysia it was a smooth travel, despite the many interchanges. I felt a little like a parcel though.

Koh Phangan was rather quiet as the infamous Full Moon Party was still weeks away. Nonetheless there were good party spots and great people in my hotel (Hard Road Villas).
